Meet Dr. Steven Rathers

It is my pleasure to serve the students, educators, and community as the new principal of Riverbend Prep. In addition to my experience in education, my leadership and instructional experience in other sectors, including the military, corporate, and ministry, has expanded nearly thirty years. I served as an Army officer working with the PATRIOT Missile System for five years. After completing the requirements of a 4-year Army ROTC Scholarship, I elected to pursue a career in the field of pharmaceutical sales. Transitioning from the corporate sector, I entered full-time ministry as the founding pastor of a non-denominational church, where I continue to serve as the senior pastor. I have nine years of classroom teaching experience and completed my first year as a principal during the 2023-2024 school year

My educational background includes receiving a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Central State University, a Master of Arts in Religion, Master of Divinity in Professional Studies, and a Doctor of Education in Christian Leadership all from Liberty University. By pursuing lifelong learning, I believe it establishes an example for our students to aspire to achieve scholarship at the highest level.

It is my privilege to lead the Riverbend Prep. educators and students. My desire is to inspire our community to achieve greatness. Mediocrity is not a characteristic of greatness!
